GINNY CLARK

I was born and raised in Massachusetts on the Atlantic Ocean. I graduated with a degree in Home Economics/Clothing & Textiles from Oregon State University. I then attend the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA and worked as a graphic artist for years. We have lived in Clarkston, WA for 14 years.

I learned to quilt in 1976 while living in San Francisco. I had sewn my own clothes all my life. My mother always had the sewing machine set up in the dining room. I have made many traditional quilts, but with my art background I wanted to branch out. I now mainly do artsy wall hangings and wearable art. Yes, I have many vests. I love to embellish with beads, yarns, threads, paints, sparkles, fabric manipulations, and other fun things.

Over the years I have explored water colors, oils, pen and ink, pottery, stained glass, pastels, beading, quilting, fiber art, wearable art, and more.

Warner Books published my illustrated cookbook, “Lighten Up,” and I ran an illustrated recipe column “Easy Lowfat Eats” in various newspapers for a number of years.

My first love is fabric and fiber art, with pastel painting being a close second.
