The pictures below don’t do the work justice, my work - as well as the Barn - is best appreciated in person. Come visit - we look forward to seeing you! Artist statement- While attending the University of Idaho, in pursuit of her BFA, Tracy took every art class she could: ceramics, collage, drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, and of course, textile surface design. While fabric and fibers are now her primary art medium, she has recently been experimenting with abstract compositions, making use of collage, watercolor, and cold wax medium and oil paint. Textile surface design is still her first and fullest love, from batik to free-motion machine quilting—she is excited by the element of surprise - hooray for happy accidents! With all of the many surface design techniques and options available, her head is usually swimming with ideas for her next projects. If only there were more hours in the day! She has had a public studio at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown, WA from its beginning, and she loves it. Tracy would love to hear from you.  Silk Chiffon Scarf - sold
SOLD 14" x 72" of 100% silk chiffon - I buy my scarf blanks from Dharma Trading and then hand-dye them. With a rolled hem, chiffon has such a lovely "pebble" texture to it. Made into an infinity scarf, by slip stitches in embroidery floss. This specific scarf is sold, but if there is a color-way that you would like to see in a scarf, just contact me.  Torch-fired glass bead earrings
Each bead is made one at a time, so each bead is unique. Glass enamel melted on a core of copper tubing, with accent beads, and fish-hook style earring findings in gold or silver (plated). On display in my studio at the Barn. Scroll down to see info on specific individual pairs of earrings available. Concept : a small thing that can make a person feel pretty. I am happy to make them in a color you request - and send pictures directly, so that you know what you will be getting.
